A memorial service will be held for Coach Don Hall at 11:00 am, on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at the Don Hall Track located at Orange Park High School.
Orange Park High School lost a legend over the weekend. Coach Don Hall passed away at his home on Sunday night. He had just celebrated his 90th birthday on Mother’s Day. Coach Hall was an iconic figure at the high school and around Clay County and North Florida. He volunteered at OPHS for 50+ years and never received a dime for his service but won the admiration, respect and love of so many student-athletes, coaches and faculty members. He was known for being at school prior to practice time and staying late to help close up the track. Even if you didn’t have the pleasure of coaching with Don Hall, you undoubtedly had an opportunity to meet him as he took up tickets during those cold winter soccer nights. He was blessed with the ability to change lives and each person he touched was blessed to have known him. He was a Raider through and through and in a profession that is ever so changing, he was a constant. His contagious smile and whimsical laugh will surely be missed around the campus of Orange Park High School. He truly was the man, the myth and the legend that is Don Hall.
